The resistance of Brazilian Courts towards Animal Law

This article aims to analyze the acceptance of Animal Law in Brazilian Courts and demonstrate ways to insert this new theme in judgments. The roots of the problem will be commented on and differences will be presented between the civilist and animalist currents among the judges. A true project to support Animal Law will be presented, which was disapproved by the TJMG. Some judicial decisions will be analyzed and, in the end, it will be concluded that support for Animal Law does not harm the impartiality of the Courts.
