Dilemmas and challenges of socioenvironmental movements in the Lula 3 government: interview with Adriana Ramos – Socioenvironmental Institute

Abstract

Interview conducted by the organizers of the Dossier on Climate Justice, International Organizations, and Cooperation: Challenges for the 2030 Agenda in Brazil, Denise Vitale and Danielle Hanna Rached, on October 4, 2023, with Adriana Ramos, political advisor and member of the Strategic Management Council of the Socio-Environmental Institute (ISA). The dilemmas and challenges facing socio-environmental movements under the Lula 3 government are discussed in this interview with Adriana Ramos, who addresses central themes for Brazilian socio-environmental policy. The conversation covers important conceptual analyses, the shift in the political context, the challenges of national and international processes, the internal tensions within the Executive branch, and the delicate relationship with the Legislative and Judicial branches.
