Thread and Legal Solution of the Brazilian Federal Judges's Strike

Abstract

This paper focuses the imninent strike of the Brazilian federal judges in 2000, and its aftermath, on the basis os Sociology and Law. After considering the legal context, and making remarks about Law and its role of behaviour legitimate, the text clarifies that paralegal pratices, known as "jeito", usually prevail in brazilian society. Finally, the paper considers the legal solution found in order to avoid the judge's strike as a way of privilege, convenient to the top authorities of Brazilian State.
